Steve – My first sailing experience was when I took windsurfing lessons for my 12th birthday. By the time I was 16, I was a B.I.G. and A.S.A certified sailing instructor, competing in national windsurfing tours for many years with Olympic hopes. About 20 years ago, I bought my first sailboat, a tired old Catalina 30 that I sailed all over the Great Lakes (as well as crewing on many other boats). Later, there was a Hans Christian 34, then a Catalina 36, a C&C 40, and a CT-41 before cruising and living aboard a custom 45′ Huntingford pillothouse for several years. Most recently, we fell in love with the cruising form and function of our performance catamaran Manonash – the perfect cruising platform for the San Juan Islands.
– Favorite Anchorage: (It’s a secret…)

– Favorite Cruising Experience: The next one.
Megan – My first sailing experience was actually taking a windsurfing lesson from Steve over twenty years ago in Oregon before losing touch. While living in Southeast Asia, I had my first opportunity for “real sailing” aboard a schooner from Thailand to India and fell in love with the power and mystery of the sea. In 2006 I bumped into Steve at a grocery store in Madison, WI and within months we were married and making passages together, looking for ways to share our unique lifestyle with others who are looking for a little adventure. I can’t imagine any place more beautiful to charter a sailboat than in the San Juan Islands!

– Favorite Dish: Blackberry Coffee Cake (w/ french pressed coffee!)
– Favorite Cruising Experience: Sailing at night with a bright trail of bright bio-luminescence behind in our wake
